| Methodology The whole project, especially in the beginning stages, focuses to the sounds, the rhythm, the cadence of Arabic. Language is, primarily and basically, a system of sounds and has certainly precedence over orthography, which comes later. 1 Independent learning techniques are used so that any learner can learn Arabic at his own convenient speed, with or without a teacher by his side. 2 Now the interaction between the learner and the teacher will become much more interesting and meaningful. 3 Direct, natural, communicative, structural and cognitive approaches are predominantly resorted to but the traditional approach is not discarded entirely. In fact, there is a harmonious fusion of the traditional and modern methods of learning language. The best of both are incorporated in the project. This is, of course, NOT done theoretically but practically as language is a skill and therefore needs more and more practice, which ummies.info offers. |
